Get the most out of SyndTrack in 30 minutes

Quickstart, import workflows, email automation, K-1 exports, and the developer API. All in one page so you can scan, find, and ship.

Quickstart

Three steps from signup to your first tracked deal.

  1. Sign up

Free tier with up to 7 deals forever. Pick your investor persona on the welcome step so the rest of setup is tuned to your workflow. Create an account

  2. Bring your data in

Import a CSV from a sponsor portal or your own spreadsheet (free tier). Or enter one deal manually to get a feel for the product. Or load demo data — clearly marked, easy to clear.

  3. Add cash flows as they happen

Log capital calls and distributions, or upload sponsor PDFs and let the AI parser extract the figures. Either way the dashboard stays current and the alerts know your deadlines.

CSV import

CSV import is a free tier feature. Bring your existing spreadsheet and SyndTrack maps the columns automatically.

Required columns

  • deal_name — free text, e.g. "Riverside Multifamily Fund III"
  • sponsor_name — GP / operator name
  • committed_capital — dollars, no commas (e.g. 50000)
  • asset_class — multifamily, office, retail, industrial, hospitality, self_storage, mixed_use, land, etc.
  • status — prospective, committed, active, distributing, exited

Optional columns for richer data: vintage_year, target_irr, hold_period_years, geography, notes.

The sample is 10 realistic LP positions across multifamily, industrial, self-storage, and mixed-use. Open it in Excel / Numbers / Sheets to confirm the format before importing your own.

Document parsing Pro

Upload any sponsor PDF — a capital call notice, distribution notice, or K-1 — and the AI parser extracts amounts, due dates, and tax figures, then queues them against the right deal for your review — nothing is saved to your portfolio until you approve it.

No setup required: open the dashboard, navigate to Documents, and drop in the next PDF a sponsor sends you. The parsed fields wait in a review queue where you approve, correct, or reject each one.

Free tier users: unmetered document parsing for normal portfolio use, subject to fair-use limits, is part of Pro. If you reach a fair-use limit, the in-app message explains which limit you hit and what to do next. The CSV import path covers the same activation goal without the AI layer.

K-1 export Pro

At tax time, SyndTrack bundles every K-1 from the prior tax year into one CSV export. Hand it to your CPA in one email instead of forwarding twenty PDFs.

The export includes per-deal allocations, capital balances, and any tax figures the AI parser extracted from uploaded K-1 PDFs. Manual entries and parsed entries appear identically in the export — your CPA does not need to know which were which.

Available on the Pro tier from $99/month. If tax season is your biggest time sink, this is the feature to try first.

Notifications & alerts

  • Capital call alerts. Every active deal you have shows pending and overdue capital calls in the dashboard widget. Free tier; deadline-aware.
  • Weekly action digest. Monday 9am UTC, an email summarizing what needs attention this week — stale valuations, missing distributions, parse failures. Skipped automatically on quiet weeks.
  • K-1 season prep. One email March 1 each year, reminding you that K-1s are landing and showing the export workflow.
  • Year-end planning. One email December 1 with a checklist to close the tax year clean (log Q4 distributions, refresh valuations, map next year's capital calls).
  • Smart in-app notifications. Pro tier; deadline alerts for capital calls, document upload confirmations, and parse-completion events.

One unsubscribe link disables every email channel — no double opt-out chase.

Developer API Pro

JSON API over HTTPS. Authenticate with your Clerk session cookie or a personal API token (Pro+ tiers). All endpoints arerate-limited and audit-logged.

The full API reference lives behind the dashboard authentication wall so it can show your real account's example payloads alongside the schema. Sign in to view it.

Enforced limits

These are the limits enforced by the current deployment. Rate limits can be overridden by deployment configuration, so this section renders the values the server is using.

FAQ

Do I need to enter my Stripe / bank credentials?
No. SyndTrack does not link to bank accounts. You enter your syndication deals directly or import from a CSV. Stripe is only used if you upgrade to Pro — we never see your bank login.
How is my data stored?
Encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS). Postgres row-level security scopes every query to your account; a deal you share with teammates is visible to those invited members. We do not sell, lease, or share data with sponsors. See the security page for full detail.
Can I export my data if I leave?
Yes, on every tier including Free. Go to Settings, then Data & Privacy, and click 'Download data export' for a one-click, self-service portfolio JSON export, or request a durable ZIP archive from the background export panel. The archive includes the JSON, available document bytes, and a checksum manifest, subject to its 100-document / 40 MiB cap. No upgrade required; your data is never held hostage.
What happens to my data when my trial ends?
Your account pauses; data is fully preserved. You can upgrade to Pro at any time and pick up where you left off.
Is there an API I can use for my own integrations?
Yes — a JSON API is available on the Pro tier. See the Developer API section above for the link to the API reference (requires authentication).
